Hard to believe that another year has flown by since my last workday. My official retirement date is June 30; however, I had time I had to use before I retired.
I am enjoying my retirement immensely. My main project of reviewing all the paper / stuff I gathered over the years, and discarding most of it has been neglected. I am OK with the lack of progress because the reasons for the neglect are I go out every day, and am enjoying myself so much every day.
One goal I have finally made great progress on is loosing substantial weight. Since November 29, 2009, I have lost 143 pounds. I weigh about 100 pounds less than I did on my last workday 7 years ago. Of course, I am ecstatic with this loss. When I reach the 150 pounds lost goal, I will evaluate whether I should continue loosing, or start a permanent maintenance mode.
During my 8th year of retirement, I will concentrate on reviewing all the “stuff” I accumulated over the years, and hopefully shred / discard most of it.
The other area I have to pay attention to is my current spending like the proverbial drunken sailer on electronic gadgets. I must significantly reduce my current spending for the latest electronic toys.
Overall, I have been blessed with a quality, enjoyable retirement.
