Saw “Cyrus” at the Boston Common. I have always liked John C. Reilly, Catherine Keener, and Marisa Tomei. I was not a fan of Jonah Hill, but as I see him in more movies, I am becoming a fan.
“Cyrus” is about a guy who has bad luck with the women, and finally meets an attractive, nice lady who likes him. Problem is she has a grown son who is overly attached to her, and will not let go without a fight. The war between the new boyfriend, and the son for the mother’s attention / affection wages on throughout the movie with many humorous scenes along with a few serious moments as well.
Overall, I liked “Cyrus”, and recommend it if you like light comedies that do not take themselves too seriously.
