Hit the magical 90 pounds lost mark, I’m ecstatic

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Hit the 90 pounds weight loss target. Needless to say, I am ecstatic about the loss, but again, can not loose focus since I must loose another 60 pounds or so. I will have a dessert as a reward within the next week.

My usual caveat applies – due to normal weight / fluid fluctuations, I may be under 90 pounds lost for a few days, but will soon be exceeding 90 lost permanently.

84 pounds lost since November 29, 2009

Sunday, August 15th, 2010

My mid-month weigh-in revealed a loss of 84 pounds since November 29, 2009.  I am ecstatic with this loss, and am determined to maintain focus until my ultimate goal of loosing a minimum of 150 pounds is attained.  So far, eliminating desserts, in-between meal snacks, candy / popcorn at movies, and limiting my evening snack to an apple are still working.  When, and if additional changes are necessary to maintain my desired weight loss, I am determined to implement them as well.

Passed the 80 pound weight loss goal

Friday, August 13th, 2010

Today, I weighed 81 pounds less than November 29, 2009. My wild weight fluctuations due to the stomach “bug” seem to be finished, and this 81 pound loss should be realistic rather than “bug” induced. I am very pleased with the loss, but again realize I still have a quite a few more pounds to loose in order to attain my ultimate goal of loosing a minimum of 150 pounds

Again, the usual caveat that I know I could be under 80 pounds lost tomorrow due to normal fluid / weight fluctuations, but also realize the 80 pounds loss will be permanent within a few days.

Lost 85* pounds since November 29, 2009

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Had my mid-month weigh-in today, and I have lost 85* pounds since November 29, 2009.  As great as the loss is, I still have a minimum of 65 pounds more to go, so I can not loose focus, and must be faithful to my new eating behaviors.   You probably noticed the asterisk beside the 85.  I was hovering around  75 pounds lost, and anticipated I would be somewhere in the 75 to 78 pounds lost range for the mid-month weigh-in.  A few days ago, I got some kind of bug, and have been eating very little, and eliminating a lot of fluid etc. with “the runs”.   When my appetite returns, and I feel comfortable being more than 20 feet from a commode (sounds so much nicer than toilet), I will probably gain back a few pounds.  Hopefully,  I will stay above the 80 pounds lost target when I resume my normal activity.  I would have preferred reaching 85 pounds lost in a few more weeks via normal means, but maybe there is a slight silver lining to the nuisance situation I have experienced the last few days.

Hit the 75 pound weight loss milestone today

Friday, July 9th, 2010

I am ecstatic after my daily weigh-in today since the scale revealed I have reached the 75 pound weight loss milestone in a bit over 7 months. Seventy-five pounds is a major milestone that is approximately half the weight I wish to loose. Although very happy, I must not loose focus, and continue uninterrupted toward my total weight loss goal of 150 pounds.

I do add the usual caveat that I may be under the 75 pound milestone loss tomorrow due to normal fluid fluctuations, but also realize I will be permanently exceeding this important milestone within a few days.

What a hot one today!

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

It was over 100F today, and very humid. The radio news was advising the elderly to stay in. Since I did not look at the date of birth on my license, I did not realize I am elderly ;-) , and ventured out for the day. Must admit I felt, and minded the oppressive heat, but overall was OK.

Lost 72 pounds since November 29, 2009

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Did my end of month weigh-in today, and I have lost 72 pounds since November 29, 2009.  I am very happy with the loss, and am close to attaining 50% of my weight loss goal.   I lost 8 pounds in June which is OK, but I will monitor my weight closely to ensure my pace does not fall below the 8 to 10 pounds a month rate.

I realize I may have to make additional eating changes to ensure my weight loss continues, and I am determined to make the required changes.   I may falter on the occasional day, but will continue the weight loss by making the necessary adjustments.  So far, eliminating in-between meal snacks, desserts, popcorn / candy at movies, and limiting my evening snack to an apple have served me very well.

Hit the 70 pound weight loss target today, I am ecstatic

Friday, June 18th, 2010

My weigh-in this morning was a very pleasant experience, I finally hit the 70 pound weight loss target.  Seventy pounds lost  in a little less than 7 months is a significant achievement.  Not only is a 70 pound loss a great goal to meet in its own right, but it is also significant because a 70 pound loss matches my highest weight loss from prior weight loss campaigns.  I lost 70 pounds between February 1, 1999, and August 18, 1999.  Although I wanted to loose more weight in 1999, I went on vacation starting August 18, and except for a few sporadic pounds in the Fall of 1999, my weight loss ended.  I then proceeded to regain the 70 pounds I lost in 1999, and added a 55 pound bonus as well.   Similar to 1999, I still have more weight to loose.  Unfortunately, I have a lot more weight to loose now than in 1999 due to that pesky 55 pound bonus I added when regaining the 1999 loss.

Although thrilled with the 70 pound loss, I have at least another 80 pounds to loose, and even more vital, I must ensure I keep the weight off permanently this time.  I do add my usual caveat about realizing I could be under the 70 pound weight loss goal tomorrow due to temporary fluid fluctuations, but also realize I will be exceeding the 70 pound goal permanently within a few days.

Lost 69 pounds since November 29, 2009

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Did my bi-monthly weigh-in today, and am happy to report I have lost 69 pounds since November 29, 2009.   I also lost 10 pounds since May 15 which makes me happy.  Of course, I realize I could gain 2 pounds by tomorrow with normal fluid fluctuations. ;-)

As ecstatic as I am about the major weight loss, I can not loose focus, and must constantly remember I have another 81 pounds plus to go.  Usually, the last half of a major weight loss is more difficult, and I anticipate I will be required to make additional behavior modifications to ensure my weight loss continues.  I will make those difficult changes when needed because I am determined I will definitely loose the weight, and even more important, keep it off after I shed all the pounds.

64 pounds lost since November 29, 2009

Monday, May 31st, 2010

My usual end of month weigh-in revealed a loss of 64 pounds since November 29, 2009  Although ecstatic about this loss, it is only about 40% of the weight I want to loose so I must maintain focus.  I have managed this loss by eliminating desserts, in-between meal snacks, no candy / popcorn at movies, and limiting my evening snack to an apple.  Eventually I may have to incorporate additional changes when my weight plateaus, but for now, the initial eating modifications are still working.
